Jesus Identifies With You Much More Than You Realise

Acts 9:1-5 (NLT)
..Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord's followers. So... He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus ,.. As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!

My heart is always filled with God's love, joy and confidence whenever I study our text above. Jesus did not say, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting my people?” He said, “why are you persecuting me?!” He said this because we are not just like Him (1John 4:17), we are one with Him, 1Cor.6:17. He is connected to you just like a head is connected to its body. Ephesians 5:30 says: for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. It is His life we are living, Gal.2:20. In Matthew 25:40, Jesus reminded us that whenever we do good to a fellow believer, we are doing it unto Him; because He is one with us.

Because He is one with us, He understands what we are going through and He knows and feels our pain and hurts. It affects Him also. He also knows and experiences our joy and gladness and He rejoices with us when we rejoice. Jesus never abandons you when you are going through your difficult and trying times. In those times, His love and His strength are much more available to you than you can ever imagine. Do you remember how Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the fire and all of a sudden there was a fourth man in the fire with them, Dan.3:23-25? Be encouraged, child of God. As you acknowledge Jesus' power and His presence with you, you will experience His glorious manifestation in your life and situation. Because God sees you as one with Jesus, He will respond to you and manifest His power in your life just like He would for Jesus.

PRAYER: I thank you, Lord Jesus, for how you identify with me in all I go through. I receive Your wisdom, joy, strength and intervention in my life right now.
