Press into Greater Things
Matthew 11:11, Matthew 12:42
Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. *The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Apart from Adam (Luke 3:38), do you realise that there is nobody else who lived on this earth before Christ that was referred to as the son of God? Abraham was called a 'friend of God' and David, a 'man after God's own heart,' but the highest anybody else was called was a 'servant of God.' It was their comprehension of what it means to be a son of God that fueled the Jews' desire to kill Jesus for referring to God as His Father, John 5:17-18. 1John 3:1 says, “behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…” Verse 2 says, “beloved, now are we the sons of God...” We are sons and daughters of God, just like Jesus, and God is a Father to us in the exact same way He is to Jesus, John 17:23.
With the better covenant, promises, glory, position and fullness of God's Spirit that we have in Christ now, our relationship with God, our lifestyle, our results and our exploits need to far exceed the people of the Old Testament. Jesus, who is greater than Solomon, lives in us! Our results are supposed to exceed Solomon's. The more we come to ourselves by realizing who we are in Christ now and the type of life, results and realm that we are supposed to operate in, like Apostle Paul (Phil.3:10-14), we will forget all we think we have attained and press forth to grow and know God more. We will reach for the more glorious life of Christ that God has empowered and called us to live on this earth. The entire creation is waiting for our manifestation, Rom.8:19.
PRAYER FOCUS: Tell God that you want to know Him more and grow in Him. Tell Him that you desire to press into the fullness of Christ.
