Revelation 3:14, 19-21
“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,… As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Like we studied yesterday, the door that Jesus was referring to in our text above was the door of their hearts. God deals with our hearts and He wants us to yield our hearts to Him. Psalm 51:16-17 says, you do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God Moreover, Joel 2:13 (NLT) says, don't tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.
Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.
When God corrects us and we truly repent and turn to Him, we receive divine restorations, great harvests and fruits in our lives. Proverbs 1:23 (NKJV) says, turn at my rebuke; surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. Yielding to God's correction propels us into fresh encounters of His Spirit and attunes us to His voice and leading. One major purpose that the word of God achieves in our lives is to correct us so that we can be equipped to live the way God wants us to live, 2Tim.3:16-17. Receiving chastisement when we are are veering from the right
path is part of what renders us genuine children of God, Heb.12:8. At the moment that we are receiving correction, it is usually painful and uncomfortable, but if we endure and go through the process with the right attitude, it will produce wonderful fruits of righteousness in our lives, Heb.12:11.

PRAYER: yield my heart to You, O Lord. I am willing to take correction and to turn my heart to you when you chastise me.
