Jesus: the Amen and the Perfect Image of God
Revelation 3:14 (NKJV, GNB & NIV)
“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, 'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: *"To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: "This is the message from the Amen, the faithful and true witness, who is the origin of all that God has created. *“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation.

Jesus described Himself in our texts above as 'the Amen.' The word used for amen in this verse means something or someone that is sure and dependable. Amen is not just what we say at the end of a prayer, Amen is a name for Jesus. Jesus is our Amen! 2Corinthians 1:20 (NIV) says, “for no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is
spoken by us to the glory of God.” Because of Jesus, God's promises are not a probability in your life, they are already your reality. By your faith in Jesus, God's word and His glory will surely manifest in your life. He is sure and dependable. You will not be ashamed.
Jesus is also called the faithful and true witness. By Him, we perfectly understand the heart of God, John 14:9, Heb.1:3. God wants us to fix our attention and focus on Jesus (Matt.17:5) so we can know Him more and also become faithful and true witnesses of His life, nature and power, just like Jesus. In our text above, Jesus is also described as the beginning, origin and ruler of all God's creation. Everything finds their true meaning and purpose in Jesus. Whatever is not glorifying Jesus is living outside its purpose for creation. All things were made by Him and for Him, Col.1:16. By His blood He has reconciled all things to Himself, Col.1:20. Now, He is flowing through you and me to bring all things back into alignment with Him. We crown Him Lord in our various fields and spheres of influence by ensuring that His will is being done.
PRAYER: My faith is in You, Lord Jesus. Reveal God the Father to me. Use me to restore my sphere of influence back to alignment with You.
