Responding to God's Mercies and Grace (2)
2Peter 3:18a (GNB), 2Timothy 2:1, Ephesians 3:7-8
But continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. *Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. *Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

Why do you think God lavished so much of His grace and mercies upon you? Our first text above references growing in grace, while the second discusses being strong in grace. Both of them reveal two major reasons why God bestows His abundant mercies and grace upon us. God wants us to grow and be strong in every area of our lives. This should be our desire also. This is what we should maximize the grace of God for. What causes us to experience this growth and strength is the revelation of Christ because grace and truth came by Christ, John 1:17. His glory is full of grace and truth, John 1:14. It is the revelation of God's grace that builds us up and gives us our inheritance in God, Acts 20:23.
When Apostle Paul referenced the unsearchable or inexhaustible riches of Christ in our third text above, he was referring to the wonderful things that God has provided for us in Christ to enable us to be all that He has destined us to be. These are the things that God wants us to set our attention and affection upon, Col.3:1-2. Ephesians 3:16 says, it is from the riches of God's glory (in Christ) that God strengthens us with might by His Spirit in our inner man. Apostle Paul reminded us that He could do 'ALL' things through Christ and that God supplies 'ALL' our needs through His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, Phil.4:13. 'All things' and 'all our needs' do not refer to our material needs alone; they refer to our emotional and spiritual needs also. Maximize the grace of God to grow and be strong in every area of your life.
PRAYER: Declare by faith that by the grace of God you are growing strong in every area of your life.
