Glorious Supernatural Encounters
John 1:50-51, Genesis 28:12
Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these... Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

Our first text above elucidates Nathaniel's amazement concerning the fact that Jesus knew him even before He met him. In response to his amazement, Jesus assured him that he would see/experience even greater things as he followed Jesus. One such example was Jesus' reference to the heavens opening to reveal angels ascending and descending upon Jesus. The only other place where this expression is used in the Bible related to Jacob's encounter, as he fled from his brother Esau. The Bible records that Jacob stopped to spend the night in a strange land where he had to use a stone as a pillow. In a dream that night, Jacob saw heaven open up and angels ascending and descending on a ladder that extended from heaven to the earth. He also saw God, who spoke to him, and reassured him of his promises and presence that was with him.
Jacob awakened from the dream, amazed at the presence of God that he had experienced and with a divine, fresh lease on life (Gen.28:10-22). In the same way Jesus promised Nathaniel, He is also promising you that there are more glorious encounters of the supernatural ahead of you. These glorious encounters will have the same effect that Jacob's vision of angels ascending and descending had on him. The angels of God will minster to you as they ministered to Jesus (Matt.4:11) and they will also minister for you (Heb.1:13-14), as they did for Peter in Acts 12:7-11. Sometimes, it may appear as if you are dreaming, but it will actually be an angelic ministration. You will receive a divine boost and a new lease of life at the very moment you most desperately need them. They will be experiences that will reposition you to fulfill your destiny and God's purpose for your life.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank You in advance for the glorious supernatural encounters that You have in store for me.
