Don’t Lose Your Crown

Don’t Lose Your Crown

SATURDAY
JULY. 22

Revelation 3:11 (KJV, GNB, NIV)
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. *I am coming soon. Keep safe what you have, so that no one will rob you of your victory prize. *I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

In Galatians 6:9 and 2Thessalonians 3:13, God’s word strongly admonishes us to not grow weary in doing well. In this journey of life and faith that we have been called into, so many things are going to endeavor to cause us to feel weary and give up; but we must never let them prevail over us. Do not allow anything or anyone to cause you to give up and lose the great reward that lies ahead of you in God for your faithfulness to the things He has called and assigned you to do. Keep renewing your strength and vision in God and remember that His grace is always sufficient for you. The hope and future of many lie in your continual diligence and commitment.

One reason why we are implored to ‘press’ on continually towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil.3:14) is because there will be discouragements and opposition. However, we are assured the victory in God and as such, we must keep pressing on.

Make up your mind that no matter what comes your way, you will not give up but rather, you will finish strong. In 2Timothy 4:7 (GNB), Apostle Paul confidently noted: I have done my best in the race, I have run the full distance, and I have kept the faith. In Acts 20:24, Apostle Paul adds, “but none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Also, in 1Timothy 6:12 (GNB), he admonishes Timothy by saying, “run your best in the race of faith, and win eternal life for yourself; for it was to this life that God called you when you firmly professed your faith before many witnesses.”

PRAYER: Renew my vision and my strength in You, O Lord. I receive Your grace to press on and finish strong.
