1John 4:9-10 (GNB), Romans 5:8&10 And God showed his love for us by sending his only Son into the world, so that we might have life through him. This is what love is: it is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the means by which our sins are forgiven. *But God commendeth his love toward us, … while we were yet sinners. *For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
God is love, 1John 4:8. He does not have love. He is love and that is why He loves you. His love is unrelenting and far superior to any other love. It is an everlasting love. One major quality of God’s love is that once we comprehend it, it draws us closer to Him, Jer.31:3.
Jude 1:21 says, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. The devil will do everything possible to draw us out of our consciousness of God’s great love but we must never let him succeed. In John 17:23, Jesus made a very powerful statement about us. He declared that God the Father loves us just the way God the Father loves Him. If God the Father cannot change His love for Jesus, then He certainly cannot change His love for you. You should expect God the Father to treat you exactly the way He would treat Jesus because He loves you just the same way he loves Jesus.
The love of God is something we must continue to grow in the knowledge of and continue to receive. We actually need God’s help to fully comprehend it. That is why Apostle Paul prayed the way He prayed in Ephesians 3:14-19.
Romans 5:5 (GNB) reveals that it is by His Spirit that God pours His love into our hearts. Child of God, you are greatly blessed and loved by God. Remain in the love of God. Do not allow anything or anyone to cause you to feel separated from His love, Rom.8:35-39. God is for you, Rom.8:31-32
PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God that He loves you just the same way He loves Jesus. Ask Him to reveal more and more of His love to you.
