Expressing Faith With Thanksgiving

Expressing Faith With Thanksgiving

SUNDAY
JULY. 23

1Corinthians 1:4-5 (GNB), Colossians 1:12-13 (NIV)
I always give thanks to my God for you because of the grace he has given you through Christ Jesus. For in union with Christ you have become rich in all things, including all speech and all knowledge. *giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.

What would you do if someone were to inform you that they have provided something very special as a gift for you? To show that you acknowledge and appreciate their gift, you would immediately say ‘thank you’ and express gratitude for the love and kindness they have shown to you, right? If you are really sure of the ability and integrity of the person, you may not even wait to see the gift first before rejoicing and being glad about it because you know that gift is already yours. Now how often do you thank God for His great love for you and for the incredible things that He says in His Word that He has done for you in Christ? How much do you even know of what God says He has done for you in Christ?

When Apostle Paul said, “blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” in Ephesians 1:3, he was writing to the Ephesian church quite all right. But at that moment, based on the revelation he had, he was thanking God for something else God has done for us all in Christ.

One major sign that you have believed and received the things that God has done for you in Christ is your ability to joyfully thank God for them. They are already your reality in the Spirit; and as you continue to acknowledge and thank God for them, they will become your experience in the physical. Endeavour to fill your time of prayer and fellowship with God with such thanksgiving declarations.

PRAYER FOCUS: Rejoice and thank God for some specific things you know He has done for you in Christ. Ask Him to show you more.
