You Have a Sound Mind

You Have a Sound Mind

TUESDAY
JULY. 11

2Timothy 1:6-7, 1Corinthians 2:16Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. *For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

One of God's primary principles is the principle that "to him that has, more will be given," Matt.25:29. What this means is that when you value and make good use of what you have, God will bless and increase it even more. This is another major reason why you need to remain knowledgeable of all the gifts that God has given you in Christ. Acknowledging them helps you to stir them up and to make good use of them. As you do so, God will continue to increase their manifestation in your life.

In Christ, God has given you a sound mind. Acknowledge the soundness of your mind by boldly repeating this truth to yourself, especially when your feelings attempt to dictate otherwise. In fact, you not only have a sound mind; you actually have the mind of Christ. Because you have the mind of Christ, your mind is filled with the wisdom of God. In the same way that Christ engaged in exploits by the wisdom of God (Mark 6:2), you also will do exploits because you have His mind and wisdom in you. Just as Christ always knew what to do (John 6:6), you also will always know what to do. 1John 2:27 says, but the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

A sound mind also refers to our self-control. Not only will you know what to do, you will be willing and able to do it. No matter what is happening around you, you will not be overwhelmed and destabilized. You will do what is right and God's name will be glorified in your life and situation.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for filling me with the mind and wisdom of Christ. Thank you for giving me a sound mind.
