Matthew 15:8 (NKJV), 1Samuel 16:7b (GNB), Psalm 51:17
"These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. *..I do not judge as people judge. They look at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart." *The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

God is always concerned about the state of your heart and He wants everything that you do to come from your heart- not just your lips, your outward appearance or actions. Some of the things that God wants to see in our hearts at all times are sincerity, love, faith, diligence, humility and a strong desire to honour and please Him. You must diligently guard your heart with all these things as much as possible. Do everything that you do with the right motive.
Beloved, remember that God is always looking to and fro the earth for those whose hearts are committed to Him and trusting in Him so He can show Himself strong on their behalf, 2Chron.16:9. Sincerity, faith and diligence will help you to draw near to God and please Him at all times. Hebrews 10:22 (NIV) says, “let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 11:6 further notes, “but without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
In Matthew 6:1 (NIV), Jesus specifically warned us to avoid conducting our acts of righteousness before men to be seen by them. If we do so, we will have no reward from our Father in heaven. When you are sincere, you will not engage in eye service. So many people are cut short their lifting and promotions because of their hypocrisy and eye service. They forget that the God who lifts and promotes sees all that they do and sees the real state of their hearts.
PRAYER: Lord, I love you with all my heart. I desire to draw near to You and to please You and do everything I do with my whole heart.
