2 Kings 2:1-2 & 9 (NIV)
When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven .., Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. Elijah said to Elisha, "Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel." But Elisha said, "As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you." So they went down to Bethel. *When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, "Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?" "Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit," Elisha replied.
One thing that distinguished Elisha from every other person around him was his extraordinary vision. There were possibilities that God opened Elisha’s eyes to see that no one else around him was privileged to see. That was precisely what fueled his desire for a double portion of Elijah’s anointing and why he did everything he could to diligently follow Elijah. Beloved, today, I pray that God will open your eyes also. I pray that God will inspire your heart and give you extraordinary visions of great and astonishing possibilities. I pray that God will grant you unimaginable revelations of Himself which will drive you and make you passionate and different in every area of your life. Even Elijah, who was Elisha’s master, was shocked by Elisha’s vision. Your visions and revelations will baffle men.
What people see and believe affects how they behave. This is why people often respond differently to the very same situation. Elisha was not the only one with the revelation knowledge that Elijah was about to be taken by God to Heaven. The sons of the prophets were also aware, but because they did not have the same vision that Elisha had, they failed to follow him the way Elisha did. In the same way, the absence of vision and revelation is causing so many people to miss out on opportunities for exploits both in life and in God. You will be different. The great visions and revelations that God will grant you will cause you to maximize great opportunities to do exploits.
PRAYER FOCUS: Ask God to continually open your spiritual eyes and give you visions and revelations that will cause you to do exploits.
