Be More Diligent in Controlling Your Thoughts

Be More Diligent in Controlling Your Thoughts

MONDAY
JULY 3

Proverbs 4:23 (KJV, NIV, AMP), Philippians 4:8 (GNB)
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. *Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. *Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. *In conclusion, my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable.

Child of God, your thoughts are very powerful. Too many believers underestimate the effect of their thoughts upon their lives. Your mind is the gateway to your life. The thoughts you allow to be planted in your mind inevitably affect the type of fruit that your life will produce. The direction of your life at the moment is largely the result of the way you think and as such, you must take your thoughts very seriously. Make up your mind that not everything goes when it comes to what you choose to dwell upon. Ensure that at every given point in time, you are thinking the way that God desires for you to think. 2Corinthians 10:4-5 reveals that spiritual warfare has a lot to do with the control of our thoughts. It is easier to stop a negative from taking root than to change a bad habit or mentality.

Be more vigilant with your thoughts. There are so many things in life and our society today that are intended to negatively influence our thoughts. Resist every thought of fear and negativity, thoughts of hatred, thoughts of injustice, thoughts of immorality and all evil. Do not allow them to take root. Do not allow them to germinate. Kill them immediately. Take authority over them and reject them. By your willingness and the power of the Spirit, you can say no to negative thoughts. Open your mouth and take authority over those thoughts by declaring God’s thoughts concerning you. Listen to your conscience and align your thoughts with God’s thoughts. Think thoughts of love, joy, peace and other dimensions of the fruit of the Spirit, Gal.5:22-23. Keep being transformed by renewing of your mind with God’s Word, Rom.12:2.

PRAYER FOCUS:
My mind is blessed and sanctified by God’s Word. I only think in line with God’s thoughts.
