New Dimensions of Favour

Joshua 5:2 (NKJV)
And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day. Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.

Whenever it appears like one door closes, it is usually because a better door is being opened for you. So, do not lose your faith and zeal. God is your source. He loves you because of Christ and never runs out of supply. In the same way He did not withhold Christ from you, He also will not withhold any good thing from you, Rom.8:31- 32. He can choose, however, to change His mode or channel of supply whenever He deems fit. All you need to do is remain in close fellowship with Him and be ready to change pattern or strategy as He guides and leads you or as the occasion demands. Throughout the time the Israelites were in the wilderness, manna continuously fell from Heaven. All they had to do was collect as much as they desired for themselves.

However, when they entered the Promised Land, there was a change in the way God met their needs. The fact that manna was no longer falling from Heaven did not mean that they had fallen out of favour with God. It only meant that they had entered a new season and as such, there was need for a new strategy for them to thrive and be all that God wanted them to be in that season. Similarly, when they were in the wilderness, Moses was their hero; but once they entered the Promised Land, they became heroes for each other. They collaborated to fight and possess the lands that belonged to their fellow tribes, Josh.1:14-15. They now became manifestations of God's favour unto each other. One thing you must never forget is that as God uses you as a channel of blessing to others, your own life will never be void of His blessings.

PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for new doors of favour that He is opening in your life. Ask Him to use you to manifest His favour unto others.
