You Have the Greatest Counselor in You

1 Corinthians 2:10-12 (NIV), John 16:13 (NIV)
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. *But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth… he will tell you what is yet to come.

By virtue of the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life, you always maintain free access to the counsel, wisdom and will of God in every situation that you find yourself. Whenever you pray or believe God about a situation, thank Him in faith and rest assured that He will direct you by His Spirit on what to do. Listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit. Three major things that enhance your capacity to receive counsel from the Holy Spirit are praying (especially in tongues), studying and meditating on the word of God and yielding to the leading, promptings and direction of the Holy Spirit. When necessary, the Holy Spirit will guide you to the right person to receive counsel from and He will bear witness with your Spirit to confirm godly counsel when you hear it. In other words, God can use people to confirm His word to you.

In the same way Jesus directed Peter on how he could catch a large number of fish, the Holy Spirit will do the same for you today. He will direct you both in your academics, business, work, family, ministry and every single area of your life and you will experience God's amazing abundance and glory. As Jesus Himself always knew what to do in every situation (John 6:6), you too will have the same experience because you have the same Spirit that is in Jesus. Just like your children (Isa.54:13), you also will have great peace in every area of your life because you will be taught by the Lord through His Spirit, 1John 2:20&27.

PRAYER FOCUS: Thank God for giving you His Spirit to guide and counsel you and receive His counsel right now in every area you need it.
