Do Not Forget God's Goodness and Mercies Towards You
Psalm 106:9-13
He gave a command to the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led his people across on dry land. He saved them from those who hated them; he rescued them from their enemies. But the water drowned their enemies; not one of them was left. Then his people believed his promises and sang praises to him. But they quickly forgot what he had done and acted without waiting for his advice.

What things do you remember more in your life? Do you remember the good things that have happened to you more or do you tend to focus on the negative? Until we train our minds, we are more likely to remember negative experiences than positive ones. We are very likely to forget God's goodness and benefits towards us if we do not make it a point of duty to deliberately remember and rehearse them to ourselves.
In Psalm 103:1-2, David said, “bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” David knew how to worship and bless God with all of his being and one of the things that he did in his time of worship and adoration of God was to recall and appreciate God for the wonderful things that He had done in his life. This must have been one of the reasons why even in the face of Goliath's challenge, David could still remember how God had shown His power and goodness in the past, 1Sam.17:37.
One powerful benefit of continually remembering God's goodness is that your heart will be remain filled with hope. Lamentations 3:19-22 (GNB) says, “the thought of my pain, my homelessness, is bitter poison. I think of it constantly, and my spirit is depressed. Yet hope returns when I remember this one thing: The LORD's unfailing love and mercy still continue.” Remembering God's goodness to you will also cause you to maintain a strong consciousness of how much God loves you, His presence with you and how blessed you are.
PRAYER FOCUS: Meditate on God's goodness and mercies in your life and family and bless His name sincerely.
