Grace for Extra Diligence 2
Acts 20:28-31 (NIV)
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard!

It is important that we be extra diligent in our faith and walk with God like we studied yesterday, but it is also very important that we show extra care and diligence for the faith of other believers. Whenever Apostle Paul finished ministering to a group of believers, he did not just leave them and walk away. He made extra effort to ensure that even while he was away from them, they remained strong and steadfast in the faith. This is why He wrote letters to believers and he prayed diligently for believers (Rom.1:9, 1Thes.1:2, Philm.1:4). He desired to visit believers to encourage and strengthen them in their faith, Rom.1:11. In 2Cor.11:28, he referenced the fact that he was daily concerned about the state of all the churches.
How concerned are you about preserving and strengthening the faith of others? What efforts are you putting into preserving and strengthening the faith of others? With the great deceptions, distractions and attacks upon the faith of believers in our day, we need to be willing to go the extra mile to care for and do everything possible to build, encourage and strengthen the faith of others.
If you are willing to make yourself available, God is more than willing to use you to preserve and enhance the faith of others. Do not leave it for the pastors and bishops alone to do. Your little effort can go a long way. Look out for those who you have not seen in a while. Call, visit and pray for them. Give them helpful materials. Join faith with them concerning their challenges. Encourage and disciple them.
PRAYER FOCUS: Ask God to use you to encourage and strengthen others in their faith. Pray for specific people as God leads you.
