New Dimension of Favour 2

Genesis 21:14-16 (NKJV)
So Abraham …took bread and a skin of water; and ..., he gave it and the boy to Hagar, and sent her away. Then she departed and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba. And the water in the skin was used up, and she placed the boy under one of the shrubs. Then she went and sat down across from him at a distance of about a bowshot; for she said to herself, "Let me not see the death of the boy." So she sat opposite him, and lifted her voice and wept.

Without any preparation or warning, Hagar and her son Ishmael were ejected from Abraham's house with very little provision. They were sent out with no direction and not even given a horse or a donkey to travel with. After they left, Hagar was still trying to grapple with the reality of the strange thing that had just happened to her when the little provision she had ran out. It looked like the end of the world for them and Hagar gave up hope and began to cry. It really looked like a hopeless situation but God came and spoke to Hagar and brought Hagar into a new dimension of His favour. God told her to go and hold the hand of her son; that is, not to give up on him because He was going to make him a great nation. In addition, God opened her eyes to see a well of water (a new channel of supply and favour). Because God was with them, Ishmael grew to be great, Gen.21:18-20.

Because of Christ, you are rooted and established in God's favour and nothing that you face (no matter how sudden and unexpected it is) will be able to throw you off balance. Sometimes, God may disconnect us from certain things and people to prove to us that even without them, because He is with us, we will still succeed and be all that He wants us to be, Rom.8:31-32. Fear not! If only you can hear what God is saying about you, you will not give up on yourself or on your dream because of what may have happened to you. As you pray and reach out to God, you will hear His voice and He will open your eyes to new channels of His supply, new ideas, new strategies and new levels.

PRAYER FOCUS: Reach out to God right now and receive His Word and the opening of your eyes to the new dimensions He has for you.
