Romans 5:8-10 (Living Bible)
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since by his blood he did all this for us as sinners, how much more will he do for us now that he has declared us not guilty? Now he will save us from all of God's wrath to come. And since, when we were his enemies, we were brought back to God by the death of his Son, what blessings he must have for us now that we are his friends and he is living within us!

One important thing to glean from our text today is that God sent Christ not only to live on this earth and to suffer and die for us, but also to reveal how much He loves us and how eager He is to save and cause us to experience His power, grace and glory in every area. One major way to grow in our understanding of God's love is to focus on the revelation of Christ and the things that God has done for us. It is in this revelation that we will understand just how much God loves and values us. God does not love or value us simply because of how good we are now. He loved us, valued us and chose us even when we were sinners and His enemies.

It is our understanding of the extent of this love and value that God has placed on us that produces His nature and goodness within us. It also produces our faith and confidence in God. We love Him because He first loved us, 1John 4:19. We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us, Rom.8:37. When we understand all that God did for us when we were His enemies, we will not doubt the far greater things that He is willing to do for us now that we are His beloved children. Together with Christ, God is willing to freely give us ALL things, Rom.8:32. When God says all things, He means all things. He will also do mighty things both in you and through you. You are special and valuable to God. As you trust His love for you, He will reveal to you greater dimensions of His love, as our text above says.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the great love and value you have placed on me in Christ. Manifest Your love to me today.
